So,
why am I so disgusted by the progressive liberal movement? It has
endeavored for decades to separate cause and effect. To separate
consequence from action, to eliminate individual responsibility for the
choices involved in life. It has likewise prioritized feelings over
facts time and again. Essentially, it has led to a far worse version of
humanity while trying to make an emotionally better one. It,
essentially, dramatically illustrates the old saying that “the road to
hell is paved with good intentions”. All of this before we even get into
pharmacology replacing real parenting.
How does all this tie into the recent well publicized mass shooter events you ask – well, you now have a couple of generations of humans raised on a steady diet of this progressive pabulum that has an overarching story arc of “you aren’t responsible for your actions” and “it will be fixed for you”. It should hardly be surprising that kids fed this irresponsible diet act out like this when the value associated with individuals is minimized in a world that no longer values real individualism and personal responsibility, but rather favors emotional collectivism detached from consequence.
Among Progressivism's major list of failings:
1. the "if it feels good, do it” mentality that says don’t worry, we will protect you from the consequences of your choices and make others pay the price for your failures and folly
2. the inherent hypocrisy as seen repeatedly in the progressive world view – one example in current politics would be the screeching about Trump’s alleged misdeeds with women while maintaining a deafening silence about William Jefferson Clinton’s, or say, the willingness to cry out “it takes a village” or “if it saves only one child” while simultaneously ignoring the 66,000 aborted children just since the shooting in Florida or the fact that a black child in-utero in NYC has a less that 50% shot at making it to birth without being cut out of the womb.
3. The authoritarian inclination of progressivism and desire to use authoritarianism and the state to suppress thoughts that fly in the face of the progressive worldview
4. the deliberate ignoring of human nature
5. the prioritization of emotionalism over rationalism
6. the willingness and drive to pursue the perception of safety at all costs
7. the weakening of the citizenry across the board into highly specialized, but relatively incapable sheep that can’t survive or function without a relatively massive support structure.
8. the belief that you have the right to not be offended
9. the slavish adherence to the notion that “Socialism can work here” even though it has fundamentally failed everywhere else it has been tried outside of the most homogenous populations such as the nordic countries
10. the love of the state that leads to the unwillingness to acknowledge governments are the greatest killer of human life in the history of the humanity, far more so amongst communist and socialist nations.
11. the abandonment of personal accountability
12. minimization of the value of fathers
13. the destruction of the nuclear family
14. the elevation of the state over the individual
15. groupthink and the overt attack on those that do not agree
16. devaluation of the individual in general
17. the advancement of reverse racism
18. the advancement of feminism 2.0 - the women are better than men movement
19. social tinkering without accepting the consequence of doing so - the skyrocketing cost of higher ed due to progressive retrenchment of the notion that all kids in the US should go to college and removal of shop classes and tech prep coursework from American high schools (starting in earnest with Clinton in 93 or so) in conjunction the pouring of federal money into college education without regard for the fact that only maybe 5% of the US population is college material along with the ensuing destruction blue collar and manufacturing in the country is a textbook example of this.
You want to know why these things are happening – this is what Progressivism has wrought…. You reap what you sew.
